1. Click on the Apple menu and select “System Preferences.”
2. Click on “Language and Text.”
Click on “Keyboard” instead if you are using Mac OS X Mavericks.
3. Click on the tab labeled “Text” near the top of the System Preferences window.
4. Remove the checkmark next to “Correct spelling automatically.”
5. Close the System Preferences window. The autocorrect feature will now be disabled on your Mac computer.[5]
